Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus |
Following an injunction granted
to the church, Archbishop Chrysostomos II criticized the restructuring of the
Bank of Cyprus, of which the church holds 11.6 million shares, and called for
the resignation of Finance Minister Sarris.
Yesterday the court granted the church an injunction
on the restructuring of bank shares until the matter is judicially reviewed. The church claims that stripping of it shares
without compensation is unconstitutional.
